Leadership

Kevin Fischer, Regional Overseer

Kevin Fischer is the Senior Pastor of Miami Vineyard Community Church, in Miami, Florida, where he leads an amazing team of people in reaching out to an ethnically diverse community with an uplifting message about God’s love that everyone can understand. After nearly two decades of serving at the Miami Vineyard, Kevin believes more than ever in a God who can do anything. His passion remains seeing lives changed by the power of God and encouraging people to become everything God created them to be.

Kevin and his wife Deb connected with the Vineyard in 1986 shortly after moving to South Florida from the mid-west. After several years of teaching middle school, Kevin took over as Senior Pastor of the Miami Vineyard in 1993 and started a journey that saw the church grow from 200 people to more than 2,000 people. Today Kevin and Deb are parents to five children – Michael, Joy, Carol, Sarah and Joshua – and enjoy golfing, tracking hurricanes, and cheering for the Green Bay Packers.

Other Leadership

Local
Vineyard USA is divided into eight regions.  Each region has clusters of churches grouped together by relationship and location facilitated by an Area Pastoral Care Leader (APCL).  The APCLs work together with the Regional Overseer to provide leadership and encouragement to the Vineyard Churches.

Church Planting
The goal of the Church Planting Task Force is to release healthy, fully functioning churches which in turn can plant healthy reproducing churches. Our team of church plant coordinators (CPCs), who are also local church pastors, identify, assess, train, deploy and coach church planters throughout the region.

A History of Vineyard Missions.

Since 2002, Vineyard Missions USA has served as the missions arm of the Vineyard, A Community of Churches. Each of the more than 630 churches belonging to the Vineyard community is an independent local congregation and has full autonomy, with responsibility for its own decisions, including its missional efforts. Vineyard Missions serves these churches by interacting with interested individuals and organizations internationally, organizing various volunteer groups (e.g., the Missions Task Force and country partnerships), and reporting back to the churches on the development of church planting efforts internationally. It also provides capacity building in cross-cultural skills, leadership development and for the care of long-term, cross-cultural workers (LTCCWs) supported by the individual churches of the community.

A Partnership Model

The Vineyard uses U.S. based partnerships to further missions. A partnership is a group of churches that voluntarily come together and choose a particular target area to focus in. No church is expected to go it alone! Together, along with the people living in the target areas, they develop a strategic plan and carry out the vision. Partnerships make cross-cultural and trans-local missions available to churches of all sizes. In partnership, the total burden does not fall on one church and the work in the targeted area does not fluctuate with the life of a single church. In addition, new opportunities for fellowship and friendships are available among the partners. As the African proverb says, “If you want to go fast – go alone. If you want to go far – go together.”

This task force primarily exists to encourage and develop an authentic sense of community and connectedness amongst the worship leaders of American Vineyard churches. This network is vital for the building up of our churches in the area of worship not only in the “top-down” or “broadcast” sense where resources travel from national or regional leadership and/or Vineyard Music USA out to the local worship leader, but also in the “point to point” sense where our local church worship leaders encourage and resource each other. It is in the building of this network that we hope to see the worship life of AVCUSA continue to be fanned into flame as we build the “means” by which our worship leaders can share the resources and encouragement that God has uniquely given them as well as receive those things that God has uniquely given to others.
